We offer a complete solution from initial design consultation through to the finishing touches. Our typical process is as follows:

Discuss your build requirements
An initial home visit will be carried out to discuss design options and possibilities. Our aim is to fully understand your vision so we can design and deliver the most effective solution. Following the initial discussion, a quotation will be submitted outlining estimated costs for your project.

Planning and design to meet your specifications
Any necessary planning applications/drawings or permitted building notices will be created for your review and then submitted on your behalf to the relevant authorities for sign-off.

Project commencement and handover
On acceptance of planning applications we will provide estimated timescales for your project and agree a start date. On completion, a full site inspection will be carried out to ensure everything has been completed to your satisfaction.

We employed JW Dickinson to construct a small single storey extension and reconfigure the ground floor of a Jesmond terraced house to accommodate a downstairs WC/shower and new open plan kitchen/dining room/snug. James took time to understand the project; contribute his suggestions and even arranged… for me to view similar jobs he had already completed. His team are friendly and very capable. Communication was excellent and, if a job was not up to the standard expected by James, whose attention to detail is legendary, it was rectified. Where elements of the job were not part of the contract, he was able to recommend others - he knows everyone. The plans I provided were not of a good enough standard to be relied upon which, plus some naivety on my part as to the level of detail required in the specification, lead to more ‘extras’ than I would have liked ideally. Any minor challenges during the construction were handled calmly and politely and snagging issues at the end of the project were all attended to until everything was ticked off. Highly recommend and delighted with the finished project.

James and his Team at J W Dickinson Ltd have frankly been the finest builders we ever have come across.They had an incredibly small window of time to get the work done on the basement of our shop Curvy Sounds , due to funding deadlines.They were incredible , starting work just when they said they would… and finishing bang on time.They were friendly, communicative, hard working, efficient, and the work they produced was exemplary.I cannot recommend them highly enough!
